Part Four: Print Ad, Webpage, or Commercial

Print Ad:

This advertisement has a very unrealistic and dream like image. The chair seems to be floating to make it seem like an object of somebody's dream. The fonts used are not rigid, but not too curvy so that people can read and understand what they say as well as attain a feeling of comfort through their flow. None of the words are straight across the page, they all have some sort of curve to the line to, again, gain a flow throughout the picture. The colors seen in the ad, mostly blue and green, are both colors that one would associate with a relaxing scene in rolling hills, such as the background image. One propaganda technique that is used is repetition. The word "dream" is seen in multiple places on this picture. Another is simple solution because so many people see comfort in travelling as a problem, so the ad states that these seats will give you the comfort you are looking for. A third technique that is seen in this advertisement is a symbol. This mainly comes from the rolling hills in the background. This image gives off a certain type of euphoric vibe that people could associate with comfort and relaxation.

Video Ad:

Our commercial uses many advertising techniques. We incorporated humor, euphemism, and snob appeal. The beginning of the commercial starts off as humorous with a song that most people know. Then, the commercial switches to the snob appeal because it shows a good looking man in a nice car and he is say, "Take a ride on my Dream Boat." This also is where we included euphemism because you first see a really unattractive man and then see someone most people would consider 'sexy.' These techniques work in our commercial because it makes the Dream Boat seats more appealing. The ending of our commercial gives our logo and lets the viewer know we have more products than just car seats. The music we chose makes the unattractive man look serious and the attractive man look mysterious and dreamy which are characteristics we want portrayed for our seats.
